annemarie
Annemarie loves exploring the dynamic relationship between mind and body, in as many ways as one lifetime allows!
Her passion for movement began in childhood, when dancing was her second nature. To this day, you can put on any song, and she’ll instinctively start moving to it. Her time in the rigorous ballet world eventually led her to seek a gentler approach, which she found in yoga. She taught yoga for almost a decade, and the flow of vinyasa and restorative calm of yoga nidra still deeply influence her perspective on movement and the human experience of being (in) a body.
Her mom used to say she had “golden hands,” and Annemarie decided to put that intuition to work. She trained in holistic relaxation massage and has since expanded her skills to include deep tissue and fascia release techniques. Today, she is pursuing her next big dream: becoming an osteopath. This study is deepening her understanding of how the body communicates and heals, further enhancing her approach to massage.
Annemarie also has a firm background in philosophy, with 10 years of academic study resulting in a PhD in ethics. To her, philosophy and massage both are modalities of ‘moving, stretching, and kneading’: philosophy for the mind, massage for the body. She brings these two passions together in her work, offering massages that create space, foster rest, and open the door to new insights.
And one more thing: Annemarie has a way with words. Whether through her thoughtful writing or her skillful touch, she has a unique ability to move people—mind, body and soul.
